Lyme Disease

April Lavigne says she “accepted death” when writing her newest single from her sickbed “during one of the scariest moments” of her life. She contracted Lyme Disease, which is transmitted by ticks, in 2014.

When it says Lyme Disease is “the most common tick-borne infectious disease in the UK, Europe and North America”, that does include Switzerland.

As an employer or head of a team, you might not consider tick related topics your responsibility. But if your employee or your team member consistently or repeatedly complains of vague symptoms like fatigue, headaches, fever, joint aches, what do you tell them? Do you know anything bout Lyme Disease.

Most information resources in Switzerland are in German or French and the information in English refers primarily to North America. I have therefore compiled not only a blog post in english about common myths in regard to tick borne infections but also created a short “Lunch & Learn” workshop on this topic “Tick Season Ahead”. Help your team understand what the real risks through ticks are in Switzerland, how they can protect themselves and what they should do in case of having been bitten by a tick.
