Planning to go skiing or off piste this holiday? What do you know about AVALANCHE prevention?

Approx. 2000 people have been hit or buried by an avalanche over the last 10 years. Every year, about 25 people die from this accident.

SUVA offers a new tool called White Risk, sadly at this point only available in German, French and Italian. SUVA is Switzerland’s largest accident insurance. Their service includes prevention, insurance, and rehabilitation.

There are three components to WHITE RISK:
White Risk Explore – an online resource to enhance your knowledge on avalanches and their risk

• White Risk Tour – an online tour planner; with the White risk app you even have access to the most important data when on the go
• White Risk Pro – an interactive presentation tool to design individual presentations using White Risk media

Do you know show pays in case of a negligently set off avalanche? According to SUVA, if you knowingly ignore borders of pistes, and thus subjects oneself to the hazard of an avalanche, you must expect reduced insurance cover (daily allowance, benefits)
